The basics to a perfect smoothie are fruit, liquid and veggies which are the core ingredients. To give your smoothie an additional punch you may wish to add optional ingredients to make it creamy, make it sweet and healthy with a kick of energy.
Add ½ a cup of fruit.
Fruits are a rich source of vitamins and the fact that most fruits are yummy makes it even more worthwhile. Choose your fruit base wisely; fruits like fresh or frozen berries, mangoes, apples bananas or even pineapples are favorites to many. You may choose one fruit or a cocktail, if you choose multiple fruits try and choose fruits that can go well together, that don’t have clashing flavors rather should complement each other
Add 1 cup of liquid.
Depending on your dietary needs, you may choose from a range of liquids, water being the first. If you wanted some little bit of protein you may add milk whatever flavor you want. Juice, iced tea or green tea is also options you want or wish to explore.
Add ½ cup veggies.
Ever since childhood, emphasis has been put on eating our greens. Veggies are a rich source of fiber, vitamins and minerals so don’t even think about skipping on them veggies. You may choose from a variety of vegetables spinach, kales are most common.
Choose a veggie that you like.
Make it creamy.
Add ¼ cup. You may add Greek yoghurt which has numerous health benefits apart from being yummy, sliced bananas or even fresh avocado.
Make it sweet.
Add ½ tablespoon. You may add honey or maple syrup as natural sweeteners.
Add 1 teaspoon. Ginger, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa powder are all options you may wish to explore that will make your taste buds tingle with excitement.
For 1 serving you may add either chia seeds, flax seeds or hemp seed which will blow the energy levels sky high for a healthy energy boost for your smoothie.
